CollageIt Photo Collage Software

Photo collages are a fun way to capture the feeling of a day out or the growth of a child. Until now, I haven’t had an easy way to create photo collages. I don’t use expensive photo editing software and have no graphic design experience. Simplicity of use and cost are the two biggest factors when I look for photo software. PearlMountain’s CollageIt software is designed to meet those needs.

PearlMountain was founded in 2006. They produce a several photo softwares and greeting card software. They’ve received a number of awards from companies such as Cnet and GearDownload.com.

I downloaded the free version first and gave it a try. It was extremely user-friendly. After selecting a few photos, I had a useable collage in under 10 minutes. There are seven file formats available for exporting the collage including JPG and PDF. There are also different background color options and a large number of templates to choose from.

For comparison, I upgraded to CollageIt Pro. There are some great features that are unlocked with the Pro version. The opening splash screen is removed and the watermark is left off the collages. Large-size collage export is available as well as a photo crop option. The collages below were made with CollageIt Pro. The first three are different placement options using the same 5 photos.

The only drawback to the software I found was that changing the background would also change the placement of the photos. The simple drag and drop photo placement makes this a pretty minor issue. All in all, I am very happy with the results I was able to achieve and the simplicity of the software and would recommend both the free and pro versions.

You can download CollageIt and CollageIt Pro at http://www.collageitfree.com/.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
